Angthol was born in Minas Tirith to a family with a long history in the army of Gondor. His father, Geldir, was an armour merchant who had a lucrative trade from his connections within the Gondorian military and greatly desired that his son follow in his footsteps rather than leave to fight and die as so many of his friends and family had.
After the death of his father in a bandit raid outside Lossarnach, Angthol determined to fulfill his father's prevailing wish and take a pilgrimage north to the Old Kingdom of Arnor before enlisting with the Gondorian army. Taking only his family's heirloom plate armour, he entrusted his father's business to his younger sister, Tarnith, who in turn resented him for leaving his homeland and begged him to defy their father's whim.
Relying on his courage and the training from his uncles who served in Gondor, Angthol began his journey north with no small amount of arrogance in his young heart, but soon found aspirations of fame and glory would not serve him well in the treacherous northlands. Over the course of his northward journey, he grew to become a humbly noble figure, striving to embody the ideals of the Dúnedain of old he had read about. Eventually he was fortunate enough to meet some of their descendants in the wilds of Eriador. He found great reward in his time spent in the protection of the vulnerable and learned much from the men of the north and spent much of his time amid the ruins of the Old Kingdom in solitude.
His tall height gives him a lean look, which belies his strength and proficiency with a shield, as his preferred style dictates. His raven black hair is worn long, but cut so as not to hinder his vision. His skin is a light tan from his early years spent blacksmithing to learn his father's trade. He has a cunning and stern gaze as his sense of vigilance demands of him.

Yes, though I'm not terribly experienced, I do enjoy getting in-character with like-minded folks and exercising the creative muscles. I've been casually roleplaying as long as I've used the internet, which is at least a decade.
